Saturday, 24th March 2018 - The Little Bull

It was a fine morning for a walk into the village. We watched Bella and Hetty learning Judo. I wish I had learnt something similar at their age. Much more interesting than Brownies.

Brett identified the huge black birds that have been frequenting our garden as rooks. They are matey with jackdaws. It is going to be a noisy spring under the bird tables.

The ponds have been cleared and restocked with water lilies in very smart baskets. I was glad to be wearing gloves when hoiking out the weeds with newts attached.

Bella turned up on my doorstep with a stalkless periwinkle and a hyacinth. What a lovely gift.

I have been wanted to try a pub in Brenchley since it was divided. Si and Lesley joined us for a couple of drinks. It was quite lovely but we were the only people in it. How can they keep it going? By hiring out an eight bedroomed venue next door.
