Tuesday, 28th July 2020 - Purity and Beauty

The wind was blowing towards to east so we lit our ever growing bonfire. I find the fire mesmerising.

Saturday, 25th July 2020 - Uncle and Nephew

The rain has been welcome on our dehydrated garden.

While doing a bit of ironing I was listening to Tim and Tom talking about computer coding. I didn't understand a word. I don't get why it is so interesting.

Tom left with vegetable biryani. It was raining so I told him to drive carefully!!!! A mother still worries even when their son is 32.

Tuesday, 21st July 2020 - Persian Violet

Hot damn flushes/flashes are disturbing my nights sleep. My morning tea is very restorative.

I have been a domestic demon today getting into parts that have not been reached for many weeks.

We sat in the garden doing the social distancing thing with Tim's sister and brother-in-law. Six months ago who would have thought the world would be such a strange place.

Tim and I have tidied and planted up the bald bits of the garden.

Saturday, 11th July 2020 - Garden Zoom

It has been a glorious day and warm enough for our weekly on-line get together to be held in the garden.

Friday, 10th July 2020 - Full and Semi-Skimmed

I was overly pleased to find glass bottles of milk on my doorstep. So much nicer than plastic.

Thursday, 9th July 2020 - Moor Wood

I think I need to go and collect my iron tablets. We went for a lovely walk with Tony and Wendy this afternoon but I felt I was dragging/lagging along.

Wednesday, 8th July 2020 - Flat Peaches

Adriene and I did a session for swimmers. Lots of shoulder stretchy moves. I found out I am wonky.

My sister came with a gift in a brown paper bag. It was five flat peaches. They were to make me feel better now Tom has gone. What a delightful thoughtful gift. Thank you.

Herbie and I read lots of books today. Teething is putting his spirit out of kilter. Go Dog Go was just perfect entertainment while eating a bowl of crisps. I adore having this time to watch our grandchildren grow.

The cupboard on the landing is looking glorious for a coat of gloss on the shelves.

The pea pasta I made for dinner was surprisingly tasty and wonderfully easy. Great stuff Hugh.

Tuesday, 7th July 2020 - Puncture Repair Team

I have been painting the inside of a cupboard that houses my bnb linen. It was going to be just a bit of a patch up. I decided that I would remove the 25 year old sticky backed plastic on the shelves. Cover stain paint is fantastic it covers all sorts of misdemeanours and sticks marvelously to my thumb. So much so that I cannot unlock my mobile.

Tom tried to fix Hetty's flat tyre. Not successful this time. She needs a new inner tube. It would be good if I could have a few new inner tubes.

Tom has gone home. I hope he is alright on his own. My heart aches each time he leaves.

Thursday, 2nd July 2020 - Walking Buddies

I have cleaned and topped up my watercolour palette. What a satisfying task.

I think I will probably worry about my children for the rest of my life.

Hetty kept Tim and I company on an afternoon walk. We had a discussion about why she couldn't bring a dead bat home. It has been left for collection with a suitable container for tomorrow.

We are watching a programme about the Salisbury poisonings. Terrifying and fascinating.

Wednesday, 1st July 2020 - Cars and Duplo

July has arrived with a new yoga programme from Adriene. Today I learnt about transitions. There is no hopping from plank to the top of the mat quite yet. I am loving the toughness of this process.

Herbie came and played with toys that belonged to Harriet and Tom. They must be about thirty years old and still providing much entertainment.
