Friday, 31st May 2013 - 1:34:31pm - Cows Amongst Buttercups

Harriet is doing a fantastic job researching into how to manage her rheumatoid arthritis.

We are off to see Soul Alchemy play in Warehorne this evening.

The cows are there you just need to search for them.

Wednesday, 29th May 2013 - 1:29:15pm - Grey Again

It has been yet another damp, dull, chilly day.

June and Barry came for spaghetti and roulade. We were beautifully entertained by the Morris Men in Benenden this evening.

Tuesday, 28th May 2013 - 1:26:37pm - A Bright Spot

Tim and I are very proud of Harriet.

Very sadly she has been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis - a horrid condition - but Harriet has taken the news with incredible strength and confidence.

What an amazing daughter we have.

The Evans family have come to stay. Hetty liked looking for woodlice under the pots and making sure Arabella was comfortable.

Tim and I caught a ray of sun and have soup and a sandwich for lunch.

I have been working on my scrapbook. Tim has been helping Mike and Pippa move. Off to Caxton Cottages for drinks in the Carters new home. I think I may need a jumper.

Thursday, 23rd May 2013 - 1:13:28pm - Pennies for Pooh

I was out the door just after 7am to miss the traffic on the way to Canterbury. Harriet, Hetty, Arabella and myself were lucky to find a mildly sunny, clear but chilly gap in the weather to enjoy climbing around a wooden castle in the Dane John Gardens.

We celebrated Mike and Pippa's new home with coffee and croissant. There is a lot of work to do. No more days out for Pippa.

Friday, 17th May 2013 - 12:57:41pm - Hetty Watering

What a lovely day I have had. I was up and out the door, taking my breakfast with me, as I had no guests to entertain. I arrived at Harriet's to find her very sore this morning. She has an appointment with a Rheumatology consultant in a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed for her.

We had a wonderful time at Expressions Cafe this morning where they hold a Friday morning crafty toddler session. Planting flowers and seeds, a bit of worm squeezing followed by painting and sticking. Ending in a snack circle with a rabbit puppet. Perfect.

Monday, 13th May 2013 - 12:47:10pm - A Long Way to Run

My newly planted runner bean plants that I have cherished in the greenhouse are now planted in the garden. Tim has made a delightful frame out of bamboo for them to climb up. They were out enjoying the sun today.

Sunday, 12th May 2013 - 12:44:32pm - Tom's Purple Polo Shirt

Between cooking breakfasts and room cleaning Tom, Tim and I set the bonfire alight. I love a bonfire.

Tom was just about to cut the grass when Jonathan whisked him away to the pub. On his return the stripes in the lawn had a delightful curve. The boys have been busy in the garden. The pond has been cleared and bean poles erected.

Saturday, 11th May 2013 - 12:41:55pm - Service with a Smile

Without Tim's help I would have not got through the morning. We have stripped, cleaned, cooked and tidied.

I needed sausages and bacon from Wards.

Harriet, Brett, Hetty and Arabella came to collect their mended car. Lindsey and Fizzy came for tea and a baby cuddle. Tom is home and now catching up with friends at the pub.

Tim is cooking pizzas which we will enjoy while catching up with Dr Who.

Friday, 10th May 2013 - 12:39:17pm - Coconut and Playdough

Today I spent a wonderful day with Harriet, Hetty and Arabella. We only vacated the house to stop the ice-cream van and buy two.

I took a coconut for Hetty. Harriet found that the bottle opener was the perfect tool to open it.

Hetty and I had a lovely time making worms with her new homemade playdough.

Harriet is going to see a consultant at Benenden about her painful joints. Not a good state of affairs.

Morrisons provided us with some lovely salmon fishcakes for dinner.

Wednesday, 8th May 2013 - 12:54:01pm - Working Cream Tea

One of the perks of running bed and breakfast is we get free entry and a cream tea at Hole Park. A group of us met there today. The bluebells are stunning. We had a very important meeting over tea and scones.

This evening we had lovely pizzas at Si and Lesley's but not enough time to look at the lambs or calf. Then onto The Wheelwrights for the Weald of Kent to put on another dazzling display. Tim handed out his excess Pink Fir Apple seed potatoes to a lucky few. I handed out my SEOS invitations.

Monday, 6th May 2013 - 12:28:46pm - Poster

This morning we went to the Lord Raglan to put up posters for the Weal of Kent future event.

A trip to Bumbles filled our car with geraniums and seed potatoes.

The weather has been glorious. Nigel and Sarah joined us in the garden for too much wine which I am at present regretting.

Thank you Nigel for tidying up our fruit trees.

Sunday, 5th May 2013 - 12:26:08pm - Beads

Elizabeth and Brenda came for coffee. Elizabeth has a lovely friend who bought her a lovely necklace. It would be nice to have a friend who would spend £45 on a present for me.

Tim still has a sore eye so we did not go to lunch with Mike and Pippa. We did gardening in the sun instead. The mosquitos are out.

Saturday, 4th May 2013 - 12:23:30pm - Tree Twig

The weather. The weather!!! Summer nearly arrived but has gone again.

We have an amazing tree in the garden that glows with red leaves and tiny yellow flowers at this time of year. The sun was shining on it at 12:23:30am.

Mary and Alan came for a beer and scotch, I had wine.

Friday, 3rd May 2013 - 12:20:52pm - Field of Flowers

I met Sarah for a coffee at The George. Tim joined us after a trip to the GP about an eye infection. We had more tea and coffee.

This afternoon we spent a sunny few hours trying to tame the garden. Tim mowed the lawn which was covered in tiny blue flowers.

We had a quiet evening at home.

Thursday, 2nd May 2013 - 12:18:14pm - The Return of Tim's Barbour

How wonderful that the jacket that Tim left outside the Star and Eagle yesterday was recovered today including his Ipad, dongle and camera. What an honest environment we occupy.

We went and had tea with Alan and Mary. Alan is feeling better after a nasty illness and one stone lighter. They missed May Day which was very sad and we missed him very much so we filled him in with all the gossip.

We watched Masterchef this evening. I love it. I seem to be on slow speed today and blame it on the lack of sleep yesterday. Tomorrow I will be as lively as a gazelle.

Wednesday 1 May 2013

Wednesday, 1st May 2013 - 12:15:36pm ish - Bladder and Tankard

Back home from an excellent day with the Morris Men.

As the Morris Men danced the sun rose over the Church in Goudhurst. Hetty smiled from the moment she was woken up at 5.15am as did little Arabella. Along with Harriet and many others we ate fertility cake and joined in the celebration of MayDay. Breakfast was very excellent and a leisurely affair at the working mens club in Horsmonden. It was followed with the many primary school children on the village green along with their May Pole and more dancing. Hetty had a entertaining effort at skipping. She loved watching her Grandad.

A bit more dancing at The Woolpack in Tenterden along with lunch. Nicely danced Sarah.

No more dancing but beer and tea at The Woodcock in Iden Green.

The sun shone all day. A perfect MayDay.

Tim is sleeping as I blog. I will be joining him shortly.
