Monday, 12th March 2018 - Three Stall Market

An alarm at 2.30am is evil until you wake and realise you are going on holiday. A cosy flight with British Airways (no complimentary drinks any longer) took us to Geneve. Our hire car is a rather ugly purple Cactus. Tim drove while Tom and I dozed. We crammed the car with food and drink from SuperU.

It was so good to arrive at The Adams chalet to find lunch laid out and a mug of tea. Fergus is a permanent fixture working in the mountains. There is snow. It is looking a bit slushy. More is forecast during the night which will be needed for the mad ski party.

It is a short drive to Sixt. Tom now has skis, boots and poles. The visit to the ski shop made me feel nervous about ski-ing even though I have no intention of getting anywhere near a slope unless I am well grounded in walking boots. A couple of bars have closed so nowhere to get an early evening drink. We did take a look at the market which was selling hot chicken, cheese and takeaway meals. That was it but meant there were no queue for Zoe to purchase her cheese.

Fergus is cooking us dinner. What a treat.
