Wednesday, 27th February 2013 - 9:29:55am - Gym Outfit

I packed a cooked chicken, made tuna sandwiches and headed off to Canterbury.

We did not quite make it to soft play gym. Brett is still off work sick. Harriet is not feeling too great either. Hetty was as charming as ever. We had cheese scones, toasted tea loaf and Hetty had a Gingerbread Tea at Tiny Tim's Tearooms. We had fun exploring the haunted room.

No baby today. I am back home with a small glass of wine, eating a cheese salad watching One Born Every Minute.

Tuesday, 26th February 2013 - 9:27:17am - Patrick Holford's Breakfast Ingredients

I had tea in bed.

Tim was helping Roger, his brother-in-law, put in a bath for Mark, Tim's nephew. I went over this afternoon and helped tidy up. Four boys in one house seem to produce a vast number of socks.

This is a contour drawing. I am practising the new method taught to us at my art class. Tom - be proud.

My new camera has an I.O.S. error and given up working. I have reverted back to my Canon which shuts down after about 30 seconds. I just have to take pictures quickly. Very frustrating.

Sunday, 24th February 2013 - 9:22:01am - Light Snow

I had been up hours before my diary alarm went off.

It is a while since I have had to work on a Sunday. I really need some more bookings as my diary is looking a little thin at present.

Tim and I went to Winchelsea to have lunch with Mum. Harriet, Brett and Hetty joined us. Tim confused Hetty with silly games. By the end of the afternoon Hetty was getting the hang of her Grandad and his funny ways.

Saturday, 23rd February 2013 - 9:19:23am - Daily Pills

A smattering of snow still lay on the ground this morning.

I made covers for Harriet's birthing bolsters and watched a great rugby game. Toby played well.

Friday, 22nd February 2013 - 9:16:46am - Spotty Hairdrier

It has snowed today but only settled for a few minutes before melting.

I got very cold cleaning out the chickens. Hetty will be pleased that I did not fall over today.

We are off to try out The Goudhurst Inn this evening with Si and Lesley.

Wednesday, 20th February 2013 - 9:11:30am - Favourite Earrings

Tim put the pearls back on my earrings.

I spent the day with Harriet and Hetty. I took a baked ham and a Kindle Paperwhite for Harriet so she can read during those dark night feeds. We went to Expressions Cafe in Canterbury. Hetty painted two mugs, one for Harriet and another for a lucky family member who remains a anonymous at present. It was very busy with families and teenagers-in-love painting various ceramics. A coffee, hot chocolate and lunch was needed to sustain us.

Later we went to Asda where we found three babysuits for £5 for the new Evans baby. Hetty and I had a great time up and down the aisles. She is very good company. Harriet is looking beautiful at 39 weeks pregnant. We had a lovely day.

Monday 18 February 2013

Monday, 18th February 2013 : 9:06:14am - Signs of Spring

Another sunny morning.

We went to Bexhill. We visited Bill who Tim worked with 30 years ago. He had collected and kept engineering magazines for the last 50 years to give to Tim. We now have a very well insulated house.

Harriet was confident to be taking the bus with 18 month old Hetty, in a sling, to her Breast Feeding Counselling graduating party in Whistable. At over 38 weeks pregnant I was not so confident and very pleased to hear that she was back home safely.

I have polyanthus springing forth in the garden but am not sure what the chive looking plant will become.

Sunday, 17th February 2013 - 9:03:36am - February Sunlight

What a beautiful day to find this morning when I opened my eyes.

I had my Mum's lemon curd on toast with coffee.

I gardened with some very enthusiastic chickens. The chain saw came out. We have more garden than we did this morning.

Tim made lunch of scrambled egg with hot smoked salmon on toast with a glass of sparkling wine which we enjoyed sitting outside in the sun while topping up our vitamin D levels.

Saturday, 16th February 2013 - 9:00:59am - SEOS Preparations

I was unloading 56 Ikea picture frames, which we got yesterday from Croydon, out of the car when my diary alarm went off this morning.

I cleaned and prepared for house for guests. I made chocolate brownies for guests. We got provisions from Tescos for guests. I made a brown and a white loaf of bread for guests. They were unable to come. We have a very clean and tidy house stocked with food.

We went to the Bell and Jorrocks for beer and wine.

Friday, 15th Febuary 2013 - 8:52:21am - Patchwork Fields

Nothing was happening at 8:52:21am, so I have improvised a little.

This is inspired by my Monday evening art class run by the very patient, encouraging and excellent tutor Caroline Clough. There maybe a bit of artistic license. I love inks.

We are going to Ewan's 50th birthday party at an Indian restaurant this evening. This is the card I made.

Thursday, 14th February 2013 - 8:55:43 am - From My Valentine

I woke to tea in bed.

I came downstairs to a card and chocolate from a mystery Valentine.

I have ordered and labelled all my 366 paintings for the SEOS Exhibition. I now just have to decide which ones I want to frame.

Tim and I shared a bottle sparkling wine with salmon en croute, rather over cooked sprouts and our Valentine chocolates this evening.

I think baby Evans may come a little early.

Wednesday, 13th February 2013 - 8:53:05 am - Dualit

I have a new toaster. I have wanted a Dualit toaster from the time I first began to toast bread. I tested it on my guest. It is perfect and beautiful.

I have finished reading a book about hypnobirthing. I am ready and prepared. My only regret is that I did not read this before I had Harriet and Tom.

Lindsey and I went to Canterbury. We took Harriet and Hetty to the Goods Shed for lunch. The carrot and celery juice Lindsey had was almost as good as the pear, lime and mint juice Harriet had but not as good as the train and fly entertainment Hetty found. We walked (it was surprisingly cold) back to Harriet's and met Jaque, Harriet's Hypnobirth Therapist, for a pre baby photo shoot. Lindsey, Hetty and I had a lovely time playing with the Duplo and making tea. Harriet is looking amazing. Hetty was a little bundle of business and happiness.

On our way home we visited Doreen and Colin, friends of Mums. Doreen has an incredibly positive attitude considering she is about to start once a week chemotherapy for eighteen weeks. A very brave lady.

Tuesday, 12th February 2013 - 8:50:27 - Which Mug?

I was delighted to find that Tescos are again delivery fresh flowers with my carrots. I was not so delighted that the Tescos Van driver has left rather large muddy trenches in our lawn where he tried to reverse onto it. Tescos are dealing with the matter. How it is resolved I will let you know.

Pippa joined me for coffee and brightened my day.

Saturday, 9th February 2013 - 8:42:34 am - Frosty Bramble

I came down to make tea and put the heating on. Very chilly this morning to be outside chasing escaped chickens. I found this bramble in the hedge.

The sun came out and I ventured out into the garden to do some weeding. I have more weeds in my garden than plants. Not for much longer I am on the attack.

I recommend Nutella on toast with a mug of tea after....... anytime.

Tony and Wendy are collecting me very soon to take me to see Coco and The Butterfields who are playing at The Woolpack in Tenterden tonight.

If I am home before midnight I will let you know more about my evening.

I painted out the water stain on the dining room ceiling caused by a leaking shower that we were using and did not know it was leaking while the other leaking shower was being mended.

It is Friday. I am alone apart from a purring cat. Tom did not call.

Thursday 7 February 2013

Thursday, 7th February 2013 - 8:37:18 am - Morris

I was up and working while it was still dark. As many others would have been doing but it is not much fun.

A guest of no bother this morning. Now I must remember to invoice the school.

I am not feeling on top of the world today. Not sure why. I think it is a multitude of things. I know I am missing Tim very much. The house needs bit and pieces done. The garden is taking over. I don't seem to have the energy to get it sorted.

The sun was shining. I washed the car. I am sure there was something growing on it amongst the moss. I did some gardening but then it got too cold and I needed a mug of tea.

Sarah called in this afternoon. The scan at Benenden Hopsital had shown nothing!!! I am not sure that is ok Sarah. There must be something inside you.

Wednesday, 6th February 2013 - 8:32:41 am - Sketchbook

I did not sleep well. I think I am missing Tim. So good thing I had to get up to cook breakfast.

I had some time while waiting for guests to come down to breakfast so I did some sketching.

After a room change (more guests tonight) I collected Mum and we went into Rye. A lovely risotto with scallops for lunch followed by important trips to Boots, Penny Royal and the bank. Lots of tea and chat while watching the darkening skies back at Winchelsea.

Back home to watch One Born Every Minute. There are some benefits to Tim being away.

Tuesday 5 February 2013

Tuesday, 5th February 2013 - 8:32:03 am - Pool Gowns

Tim made me two mugs of tea (neither got cold) before I had even made it down the stairs this morning.

I washed some dressing gowns for when Harriet needs to get out of birthing pool.

There seemed to be an unnecessary number of traffic jams on the way to the station this morning. Tim made his train and, as I type, he is settling into a hotel in Dehli. Good thing I have guests to keep me company.

Monday 4 February 2013

Monday, 4th February 2013 - 8:29:25 am - White Hellebore

I had a Hellebore that I picked from the garden in a vase. This was in the kitchen while I was making tea this morning when my diary alarm went off. Just in case you were wondering.

I made sandwiches to take to Canterbury. Tim and I went to see Harriet and play with Hetty. We had a lively time at Soft Play - Tim needed to have a coffee part way in. We wandered into town. Hetty slept. We have drinks at Chambers. Not great food but the coffee was ok.

Back to do my homework for my evening class. Sarah collected me. We have decided it is a much better evening when we have planned what to do. I had a lovely evening and managed to finish a painting for once. A quick glass of rose with a packet of crisps followed.

Sunday 3 February 2013

Sunday, 3rd February 2013 - 8:26:47 am - Church from the Window

We did not have to get up early so we didn't.

The Catholic Church at the end of our drive had its weekly visitors.

I weeded flowerbeds and planted seeds in the greenhouse ready for the spring. Tim patched the leaky shed roof. It was a chilly day out today.

Saturday 2 February 2013

Saturday, 2nd February 2013 - 8:24:09 am - Shadows in the Dining Room

I was up hours and hours before the sun this morning making breakfast for my lonesome guest.

The light in the dining room was beautiful as I was clearing the table. My guest had an early start.

Tim made the Fiat go from mud brown to gold with the use of some water. I did some gardening. I missed my little helper Hetty. She would have loved all the worms I found today.

Rather a speedy painting today as I have to get ready to go to Tony and Wendy's for dinner with Mike and Pippa. Making myself lovely takes quite a while.

Friday, 1st February 2013 - 8:21:32 am

We went into Tenterden to buy necessary items for my single night single guest. The bed and breakfast season is not quite under way yet.
