Rye was surprisingly quiet considering it was market day. We have enormous cauliflowers to adorn with cheese sauce. I found Mum's red cardigan with the gold buttons that she wants to wear Christmas day along with some baubles that took me back to being a child at Christmas. We had lunch with Brenda at The Coastguards cafe. The very amicable waitress made up for the mediocre food.
This evening we celebrated 40ish years of the Christmas dinner party club. Tim and Si being original members the rest of us have joined at various points over the years. It was an evening of Baccus, oysters for the brave, lobster, beef and a flaming pudding. We had a sleepover in the elegance of Albans barnyard cottage.
