Thursday, 26th February 2014 - Wedding Preparations

I called in to see Sarah this afternoon. Her house is festooned with many, many metres of bunting she is making for Hannah's wedding. I remember doing something very similar about three years ago. I can see Sarah is having as much fun as I did.

Tom has a new tooth.

Sunday 23rd February 2014 - Ice House

What a lovely weekend.

On Friday I made cake for guests.

On Saturday Harriet, Hetty, Bella and I went to see Mum for lunch. She seemed very 'perky' and enjoyed playing with her Great Granddaughers very much. Brett and Tom were project managed by Tim and moved much of our furniture before getting insulation ready for underfloor warmth. We have some sparkly clean weatherboard - thank you Tommy.

We had a quick couple at the Bell & Jorrocks. Then Tim and I had an evening of entertaining light and deep discussions (headed by Steve), much laugher (Steve with a monocle) and delicious food at Gay and Hudd's home. A charming evening. I thought we were late back home at 1.30am but Tom was still out.

On Sunday I had a lovely morning with Hetty and Arabella before abandoning them to walk through thick mud and puddles with Tony and Wendy. We passed some very interesting buildings. We were refreshed at The Bull.

This afternoon we cheered Mike swimming for charity. Tom was bought a pair of trunks so he could participate. We were refreshed at The Woolpack.

Thursday, 20th February 2014 - Catching up with News

It was a grey drizzly start to the day.

What better way to spend a morning than having coffee and a macaroon with Pippa in Tenterden.

I also purchased some green Dunlop wellies. Hopefully they will be better than the Hunters I had which have split - not so good for paddling through puddles in.

Tuesday, 18th February 2014 - Sparking Synapsis

I have been attacked in the process of removing brambles from the garden.

Tom has enjoyed putting together two new bathroom cabinets. It was a bit of relaxation from thesis writing.

We watched an interesting Horizon programme on placebos. I hope they reinstated the placebos for the woman with IBS. She knew she was taking a placebo but it cured her symptoms. They had to stop her sugar pills after three weeks due to trial regulations.

Monday, 17th February 2014 - One of Four

I have returned two pairs of boots and two toilet roll holders and two towel rails.

Arabella has her first pair of shoes and is enjoying her outside freedom. She plays chase with Hetty but they both do the running away laughing. It could be a long game.

We have a beautiful new slipper bath for our 'bathroom-to-be'. It has some rather large chrome feet.

Sunday, 16th February 2014 - Blue Mug and Sharon Fruit

I had trouble getting up this morning. Tim and I had a rather late night due to a delightful evening spent at June and Barry's with Si and Lesley. We ate lovely food inspired by Jamie Oliver.

Ade came over yesterday morning and admired the new website Tim had set up for him. They still giggle about who know what.

Today I spent in the rose garden getting rid of weeds. I have had a good dose of vitamin D.

Tom joined us for cod and samphire before going out with his Christmas selection box under his arm for Jimmy. I admire his chocolate control.

Friday, 14th February 2014 - From the Other Man in my Life

It has been a week since I last wrote. We have been occupied by few guests (not an ideal state in the weather to be visiting gardens), an art class (I am allowed to move on to the next project - aminals), the return of our son (from a ten day road trip), a bit of work (Tim), a trip to Canterbury (to play with my gorgeous granddaughers), a bit of wine (not too much), a couple of swimming sessions and am very pleased we have not flooded. There have been a few other events to amuse us but I feel tedium may set in with my reader.

Friday, 7th February 2014 -

I am home after a potoato infused, very enjoyable evening, to celebrate Pippa's birthday at The Woolpack Tenterden.

I need to go to bed very soon as I am happily exhausted after a day in water logged Canterbury with Harriet, Hetty and little Arabella. Thank you for a lovely day playing.

Wednesday, 5th February 2014 - Very Proud

I have been feeling a little slow today. Si, Lesley and Lindsey came over for dinner last night and I think I am still full of food and alcohol. It was great to catch up with stories about the cruise Si and Lesley have just returned from with Steve and Vivien.

I have a drawing app for my iPad. It is going to take a while to understand how it works. Lovely.

I am delighted that our Christmas poinsettia is still alive. It drops a leaf daily. Soon it will be just a stalk.

1st-2nd February 2014 - Coming and Going

We have had a family infused weekend.

On the way to Canterbury we had to navigate the Volvo through a couple of floods. Those 'Road Closed' signs are always too tempting not to investigate.

Harriet, Hetty and Bella came to stay. Mum came over Saturday afternoon with Lindsey and Fizzy with presents for the girls. 'Tangerina' Ballerina was a hit with Hetty. Loads of tea was drunk.

Reading books with Grandad was one of the favourite things to do.

Tom has gone off on a road trip for a week or so. Hetty was sad to say goodbye to Uncle Tom.

Tim and Harriet have performed a minor operation (after telephone advice from Si) on our black chicken who seems to have got an egg or two stuck. We will have to wait until tomorrow to find out the outcome.

I am amazed at how many games can be played with a few plastic bricks.

I returned The Evans girls back to Canterbury the rivers have burst their banks in a few places includig into Sainsburys carpark.

Tim and I are now alone in a very quiet house. I get a feeling it wont be for long.
